"Yasuomi Hashimura"

The U.S. debut of seasoned photographer Yasuomi Hashimura (b. 1945, Ibaraki City, Osaka, Japan; based in NYC) showcasing work from his ongoing "Future Déjà Vu" series, with works from Japan, Paris, and Rome. Hashimura's "Future Déjà Vu" series explores how an image can tie together artwork, architecture, and landscape from different centuries. By privileging the raw print materials — rough-edged papers, brushed and distressed emulsions — Hashimura builds a patina over present-day images, producing images displaced in time.
