ART IN THE OPEN (AiO) celebrates artists, their inspirations, and their responses to our city’s historic waterways and its urban environment. From May 18 to 20, 33 jury-selected artists working in all media will take to the Schuylkill River Banks Trail, from the historic Fairmount Water Works to South Street, to develop artwork that will inspire new ways of seeing the river and the city it runs through. Daily, from dawn until dusk, visitors of all ages are invited to witness artworks evolve and engage with a vibrant community of artists in a uniquely local setting. AiO activities are FREE and great for individuals of all ages.
