Glen Foerd Artist in Residence 2019

Glen Foerd Artist in Residence 2019

The Center for Emerging Visual Artists (CFEVA), in partnership with Glen Foerd on the Delaware, is pleased to invite artists to apply to become Glen Foerd's Artist in Residence at Glen Foerd on the Delaware. Once selected the Artist in Residence will have from June 1, 2019 until May 31, 2020 to complete their residency. This opportunity offers area artists unprecedented access to Glen Foerd’s historic collections, impressive grounds and the Delaware River. This is an amazing opportunity for artists across mediums and especially targeted to artists that have an interest in historic collections, architecture, environmental art, public engagement, Philadelphia history, historic homes and riverways. Glen Foerd’s Artist in Residence Program is an opportunity for artists to pursue their artistic discipline and engage with the public while interacting with historic and natural elements of the estate. Outcomes are open-ended, but must include the creation of site specific outdoor artwork, interventions, performances or installations to be exhibited by May 2020. Projects must include a public engagement component. Examples of public engagement include the following: educational outreach programs, online engagement, workshops, artist talks or performances. Artists will have access to and are encouraged to engage with Glen Foerd's community partners, a process that will be facilitated by Glen Foerd’s staff. Each selected artists will receive an artist stipend up to $2500 and a material budget up to $1750. Additional support for printing, signage, lighting, photography, and marketing may be provided when applicable. The 2019-2020 Glen Foerd Artist in Residency is funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.

Information session on April 1st at 10:30am at Glen Foerd on the Delaware.
