Artists may apply with up to 3 separate projects.

Artist Compensation

In order for artists to create an experience and a product of the caliber we expect, we recognize that artists need to be sufficiently compensated for their time. Accepted artists will receive a fellowship award of $2,500 (to be paid in two $1,250 installments). Selected artists will be responsible for conducting ten 1.5 hour intergenerational workshops for NewCourtland residents (approximately 10) and their student partners (approximately 10). Artists will also be required to attend several preliminary and post-workshop meetings, one sensitivity training session, and participate in the exhibition in Fall 2020.

Artists will be separately compensated for purchasing all necessary art supplies and professionally presenting the artwork created in their program for the final exhibition. We require artists to submit a detailed budget outlining projected art supplies and presentation costs as part of this application. We encourage artists to be creative in their thinking and not to let potential cost deter creativity.
